AACVPR’s 2019 Day On The Hill Video
In early March 2019, LSI sponsored AACVPR’s annual Day on the Hill (DOTH) event in Washington, DC. LSI team members had the opportunity to join more than 75 clinicians from 35 states who were there to meet with their elected officials to identify needs in the legislature that make access to Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation difficult for some patients. This year, these professionals took the Hill by storm to request Section 603 of the Bipartisan Budget Act (site service payment for outpatient services more than 250 yards from the hospital are drastically lower than those offered on the hospital campus) be corrected. This year AACVPR had a camera crew on hand to capture the event and key elements of the advocacy efforts. You can view the video by clicking here.
The feedback from representatives at DOTH was positive but there is still work to be done. AACVPR encourages members to continue advocating by visiting their state representatives in their home office.
