Charlotte (June 18th, 2014) – Life Systems International (LSI) is pleased to announce the commercial release of Registry Sync, the newest time saving feature in TrensCenter®. Through a custom interface the LSI telemetry and data management system is now able to send outcome data from any LSI system or workstation to the AACVPR Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Registry. LSI’s outcomes program saves valuable time by validating the patient data prior to being sent to ensure compatibility with registry data elements. All new LSI implementations will have the Registry Sync included in their LSI system at time of implementation. The company has a staged implementation plan for current customers who are eligible for this no-charge software update; which includes Windows 7 OS customers as well as Windows XP users.

CMS has approved Heart Failure (EF<35%) as an admitting diagnosis for Cardiac Rehabilitation. The actual date for usage of the diagnosis has yet to be determined, although we’re hoping for Spring 2014 date. With the approval of heart failure coverage, rehabs can look forward to a much anticipated increase in patient volume.  But with growth comes additional challenges.  CHF (cardiac heart failure) patients have additional needs beyond the traditional exercise program supported by ECG telemetry monitoring.  Signs and symptoms, such as dyspnea, decreased oxygen saturations, weight gain, and cardiac arrhythmias need to be carefully monitored.
