Day On The Hill

Day On The Hill

Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Professionals will have the opportunity to meet with their state legislators at AACVPR’s Day on the Hill in Washington, DC March 4 – 5, 2019. This annual event provides a platform for healthcare professionals to lobby and advocate for the industry. Previous visits to Capitol Hill focused on Bill HR.1155/S.1361 which would allow non-physician practitioners to fulfill the Medicare requirement of “direct supervision” in cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs. This bill was pass in 2018 as part of the ACCESS Act and will go into effect January 1, 2024. Read more »

LSI joined over 1,000 others in the cardiac rehab industry to participate in one of the year’s largest cardiopulmonary events – AACVPR’s 33rd Annual Meeting in Louisville, KY. It was great seeing all of old friends and fellow industry advocates at this great event!

Day On The Hill 2018; Passing the HR.1155/S.1361 Bill

Great news for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs! The United States Senate and House of Representatives passed the HR.1155/S.1361 bill which allows non-physician practitioners (NPP) to supervise cardiac rehab, intensive cardiac rehab and pulmonary rehab. This bill passed as part of the ACCESS Act – Advancing Chronic Care, Extenders, and Social Services, and Medicare Extender package which will go into effect January 1, 2024. Read more »
